GRINDLEFORD PARISH COUNCIL – MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 12 JANUARY 2023 at 7 pm at the Pavilion
Present: Robert Wilson, Chair; Elizabeth Coe, Peter O’Brien, John Morton, Hilary Hart, Andrew Battarbee, Ray Whiteley. Sarah Battarbee, Clerk.

1. COUNTY COUNCILLOR’S REPORT – nothing to report
2. DISTRICT COUNCILLOR’S REPORT – nothing to report
3. POLICE REPORT – there was none
4. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING. These were agreed as a true record pro EC sec HH.
5. MATTERS ARISING:
Neighbourhood Speedwatch signs. RWh to source and price.
Puddle outside the Old Post Office – clerk to draft a letter for RW to send to DCC
New Editors for the Grindleford News – RW to ask Diane Wilson how many hours she and Colleen spend each quarter with a view to consideration of paying someone to collate the News.
6. FLOODING – STANDING ITEM
Clerk updated the Council on a meeting with Stephen Sly, a semi-retired lawyer who lives in Bubnell and is interested in speeding up efforts to change the legislation re drawdown from the reservoirs.
7. CLIMATE CHANGE EMERGENCY DECLARATION – STANDING ITEM
Actions deriving from the climate event ongoing. Joanna Hill, Climate Officer from DDDC came to the event and has sent some interesting information about EVCPS. There is a proposed meeting between Joanna, Wendy Amis from DALC, Davina from HVCA and possibly George from DWT in the near future. If any Cllrs want to come could they let the Clerk know. The heat loss detector has arrived and is doing the rounds.
8. HIGHWAY MATTERS
RW reported the speed sign coming into the village from Calver isn’t fully working.
EC reported that parking on the pavement by the church wall is preventing some pedestrians from being able to use it.
BT have left some holes in the road. HH to contact Openreach.
9. PLANNING MATTERS
NP/DDD/1222/1610 https://portal.peakdistrict.gov.uk Padley Gate, Main Road, Nether Padley, Grindleford. Single storey rear extension accompanying a two storey side extension. Support in principle provided that neighbours have been adequately consulted.
10 PLANNING DECISIONS:
NP/DDD/1022/1340 https://portal.peakdistrict.gov.uk. Installation of a stormwater drain to prevent localised flooding and potholing. Resurfacing of the area of hardstanding used for residential private parking. Longshaw Lodge, unnamed track from Froggatt Edge to District Boundary. Granted.
