GRINDLEFORD PARISH COUNCIL – MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 6 October at 7 pm at the Pavilion.

Present:  Robert Wilson, Chair; Elizabeth Coe, Peter O’Brien, John Morton, Ray Whiteley, Rob Tamlyn, Andrew Battarbee.   Sarah Battarbee, Clerk.   

APOLOGIES  Cllr Sutton, John Mottershaw, Hilary Hart.

  1. COUNTY COUNCILLOR’S REPORT – there was none, but Cllr Sutton had contacted the clerk asking for proposals to mitigate the effects of the second closure of the Froggatt Road.   
  1. DISTRICT COUNCILLOR’S REPORT – nothing to report.  
  1. POLICE REPORT – there was none.
  1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.  These were agreed as a true record pro JSM sec RWh.   
  1. MATTERS ARISING: 

Jubilee Gardens. It was agreed to pay for two extra cuts, and to revisit the midsummer timetable next year.  

Defibrillator – confirmation that one should be bought, and cost shared between GPFA and the parish council.  

Noise reduction camera.  EC to pursue. 

  1. FLOODING – STANDING ITEM 

RW asked for more sand for sandbags for the next floods.  PO’B to action.  

Anton to be contacted re Derwent Connection flood software. 

  1. CLIMATE CHANGE EMERGENCY DECLARATION – STANDING ITEM 

Christmas Event – it was agreed to hold a Christmas event after last year’s fell to Covid. £100  allocated for expenses. 

EV charging points – Cllrs agreed in principle to support an application for funding if a sensible case could be made. Clerk has written to the Energy Saving Trust, and found a contact at DCC to pursue.  

  1. HIGHWAY MATTERS

Cllr Sutton had sent notification of a 14 week closure of the Froggatt Rd to replace the wate main down into Calver because of poor water quality.  Cllrs discussed possible mitigations for the extra traffic through Grindleford which Clerk would relay to Cllr Sutton.  These included a weight limit on the bridge, better signage for the formal diversion and signage ‘no HGV access’.

NP/GDO/0922/1163 https://portal.peakdistrict.gov.uk/ FOTP The Lane and Station Road, Telecoms GPDO – Proposed upgrade to the existing 8.0m high replica telegraph pole on root foundation. Proposed 17.50m high EE/H3G Phase 7 Monopole complete with wraparound cabinet to be installed on root foundation and associated ancillary works.  In support

NP/DDD/0921/1036 Brenva, Main Road, Nether Padley.  Demolition and replacement of existing building and adjacent building, associated external and landscape works.  Granted.
