  • MATTERS ARISING

Village Gates.  Cllr Erskine gave a report.  It was agreed to include the item on the next agenda.

Website – parishcouncilwebsites had not finalised the draft new website (but had done some good work copying minutes over in a more presentable form than they are currently, for which they have been thanked.) It was felt that leaving a discussion to the July meeting would probably be advantageous to everyone.

Bank account actions.  All completed, with thanks to all Cllrs involved.

  • OTHER MATTERS

Footpath restoration.  The restoration and recognition of the local pathways in the village also to return to the agenda in July.

Insurance.  It was agreed all in favour to pay the 2025 sub.  It has gone up to £674 from £606.

Newsletter.   The editor was congratulated for the latest newsletter.  The merit of having the News in hard copy as well online was recognised.  There was a discussion about timings, deadlines, length of contributions and different approaches to advertising events in a WhatsApp world, and AE agreed to take these to the Editor for further consideration.  There may be an offer on the table of a group to support the editor and stand in if necessary. Standing orders were suspended to ask a member of the public Andrew Finch for his opinion, as a representative of parishioners, about the value of the News in hard copy.  He agreed that hard copy had many merits.  Standing orders were then resumed.

Petition, Better Buses in the Hope Valley.  It was agreed to support this.

Floodwardens.  Both flood wardens have resigned, and it was agreed to advertise around the village to try to find two more.  Equipment such as waders to be provided.  The Chairhad offered to patrol the upstream banks.  Clerk is also signed up with County as a flood warden and will continue to liaise with DDDC.

To take the necessary action so that Clerk’s bank mandate can be amended – done

To approve payment of the insurance premium – agreed, all in favour
