GRINDLEFORD PARISH COUNCIL \u2013 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 15 FEBRUARY AT 7 PM IN THE PAVILION<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>COUNTY COUNCILLOR\u2019S REPORT \u2013 there was none as Cllr Sutton had sent apologies.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>DISTRICT COUNCILLOR\u2019S REPORT.\u00a0 DDDC were meeting to discuss raising fees for services.\u00a0 Green bins will go up to \u00a356 and Council Tax by 5.94%.\u00a0 It was noted that some refuse bins had been broken by careless handling and while this was a SERCO problem, Cllr O\u2019Brien would bring the matter up with DDDC.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>POLICE REPORT \u2013 there was none as PC Boswell could not attend.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.\u00a0 These were agreed as a true record, Pro HH sec RW.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>MATTERS ARISING <\/span><\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Severn Trent.<\/b> \u00a0Chair to pursue.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Village meeting.<\/b>\u00a0 There was general support for the idea of making the parish meeting a proper village meeting, details to be worked out at the next meeting.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Village gates<\/b>. Community fund deadline is 17 May.\u00a0 Cllr O\u2019Brien will help the group to get in touch Chris Henning in Highways in DDDC.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Traffic group.\u00a0 <\/b>The second 20s Plenty had gone up, thanks were given to Cllr Kirkup and GPFA.\u00a0 Clerk had spoken to Baslow about their speed limit sign.\u00a0 It was agreed that it was not going to be possible to have a similar sign in Grindleford because of the lack of a place to put it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>OTHER MATTERS\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Drains.<\/b>\u00a0 <\/span>The puddle at the bus stop was raised, to be discussed with Cllr Sutton along other similar issues at Padley. <\/span><\/p>\n

The signal box <\/span><\/b>is in hiatus waiting for a response from the planning officer, who has been given <\/span>a second round of feedback from Network Rail but has not yet made a decision or an indication either way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Flooding.\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>The flood group (Cllr Kirkup, the clerk and a resident) met reps from the EA.\u00a0 Cllr Kirkup gave a report.\u00a0 They were helpful and supportive but ultimately not a great deal of help.\u00a0 The issue of ownership is still key and is holding up everything else.\u00a0 The flood group will write to the EA summarizing the discussion.\u00a0 In addition, Cllr Kirkup via John Morton has been in discussion with Paul Birch of this village about a gift from Forgemasters of up to 20 inflatable barriers.\u00a0 Demonstrations are planned to see what issues arise.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>CLIMATE ACTION UDPATE<\/span><\/p>\n

Clerk has been in meetings with a resident from Eyam, HVCA and the CEO of CoCharger to pursue the possibility of public EV charging points in Grindleford and Eyam. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>HIGHWAY MATTERS.\u00a0 \u00a0The dry stone walls are down along Leam Lane, either side of the first gate.\u00a0 They need renewing quickly before the stone starts to disappear.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The drains below Hazelford Hall need digging out.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

A heavy tractor and trailer have knocked some of the storm run off drains up Sir William.\u00a0 Clerk to find out which property the work is being done for.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Grit bins.\u00a0 There was discussion about how to dig out the old grit which has solidified.\u00a0 Bring back to next meeting.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Report on the structural inspection of the bridge by DCC.\u00a0 The Council resolved to ask Derbyshire County Council for a copy of the latest report on Grindleford Bridge\u2019s structural integrity dated 2020 under the Freedom of Information Act\u00a0 2000, unless DCC are able to supply this report in the near future.\u00a0 All in favour.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
