GRINDLEFORD PARISH COUNCIL \u2013 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 13 JANUARY 2022 at 7 pm.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Present:<\/strong>\u00a0 Robert Wilson, Chair; \u00a0Andrew Battarbee, Hilary Hart, John Mottershaw, Peter O\u2019Brien, Rob Tamlyn, Ray Whiteley, Elizabeth Coe, John Morton.\u00a0\u00a0 Sarah Battarbee, Clerk.\u00a0<\/p>

Apologies:<\/strong> Cllr Alasdair Sutton, PC Boswell<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

  1. County Councillor\u2019s report.<\/strong> Cllr Sutton had sent his apologies.\u00a0<\/li>
  2. District Councillor\u2019s report.<\/strong> In the interests of keeping the meeting short because of Omicron Cllr O\u2019Brien had nothing urgent to report.\u00a0<\/li>
  3. Police report<\/strong>. PC Boswell\u2019s request re a new chair for Neighbourhood Watch was noted.\u00a0 There had been a break-in at Eyam Woodlands.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/li>
  4. Minutes <\/strong>of the last meeting had been circulated to all members before the meeting. They were pro HH sec JRM as a true record approved and signed.\u00a0<\/li>
  5. Matters arising<\/strong>:<\/li><\/ol>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    20s Plenty<\/strong>.\u00a0 HH had been to an online presentation which she had found compelling.\u00a0 She gave a short summary.\u00a0 Clerk to buy some 20s Plenty stickers, suggesting 50 for \u00a350.<\/p>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    Grit bins<\/strong>.\u00a0 RW had checked the levels in all of the bins and had come up with a good system to keep grit in them without risking the grit going solid.\u00a0 He is buying small bags as necessary.\u00a0 Councillors thanked him sincerely for the great deal of work he had done.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    Flooding and a meeting with EA.<\/strong>\u00a0 The EA will attend on 10 Feb as part of the Council meeting.\u00a0 Cllrs gave their agreement to a plan devised by the Clerk and Lucy Jarvis, the contact at the EA, that there would be a site visit beforehand at 3 pm with a small number of people, followed by a Council meeting at 4 pm where the EA would be able to take questions.\u00a0 There should also be a rep from the County Council attending.\u00a0 The meeting will take place in the church.\u00a0<\/p>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    1. Highway Matters. <\/strong>Clerk has reported mud and debris on Leam Lane.\u00a0 It was agreed in principle to run electricity to Jubilee Gardens, to power the Christmas lights; a line over the track had been taken out twice by the bin lorry.\u00a0 JSM very kindly said the power could come from The Old Post Office with control at his end.\u00a0 Further details to be discussed at the next meeting.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>

            Posting parish council agendas on website.<\/strong>\u00a0 It was agreed that agendas for Parish Council meetings would in future only be posted on the website, with a note to that effect going up in the noticeboard, but with the option for residents to request a paper copy from the clerk.\u00a0<\/p>

            Funding for FoGS planting at the station. <\/strong>\u00a0It was agreed to fund \u00a375 for planting.\u00a0<\/p>

            Neighbourhood Watch, new chair.<\/strong>\u00a0 PC Boswell\u2019s request for this to be included on the agenda was noted.\u00a0 There was discussion as to whether NW was still relevant, especially as the Police Alerts provided similar information.\u00a0 No candidates for the new chair were put forward.\u00a0<\/p>

            DATE OF NEXT MEETING<\/strong><\/p>

            It was agreed that the March meeting of the Council will take place on Wednesday 9 March as the clerk is not available on the scheduled date of 10th<\/sup>.\u00a0 All Councillors to note, please.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>

            As there was no further business the Chair closed the meeting at 8.10 pm.<\/p>
